Job Application Tips and Tricks Filling out a job application can get old quick, but doing a good job is important. Even a small mistake, such as misspellings or omissions, can ruin your chances of being considered for a job. Get yours noticed by:
Have your information:Addresses, names, numbers, references. Incomplete applications cannot be processed.
Honesty: Refrain from lying on your application or resume. Do not list skills you can't do. Info will be checked out.
Write as neat as possible: Handwriting is the very first thing employers look at. Make a great first impression.
Spell every word correctly: If you're not a great speller, take along a pocket dictionary you can refer to.

Follow directions carefully:Pay attention. Especially for your job rankings. Your last job is usally first.
Proofread your completed application: Look for misspellings or questions you may have missed.
If you are convicted of a crime: Honesty really is best policy. Most employers will do a check on you anyway it is very cheap and easy to do. Not all employers will be as generous or understanding, its true, but many employers will give you a chance. Everyone has a past. Take pride and tell them who you are today. Point out the date in the past, and briefly reflect on your decisions. This makes you look more like the responsible person you are. If the conviction is over seven years old, employers are usally not concerned.
Check into getting Fidelity Bonding. The bond is given to the employer free-of-charge, and serves as an incentive to the company to hire a job applicant who is an ex-offender or has some other "risk" factor in their personal background. The employer is then able to get the worker’s skills without taking any risk of worker dishonesty on the job.
The Federal Bonding Program provides Fidelity Bonds to anyone who are not eligible for commercial bonding, at NO COST to the employers or employees. It is a unique tool to help a job applicant get and keep a job.
